Jasmine Davis was named the May 2011 Youth of the Month at the regular Tuesday Optimist Club meeting on Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Sheis the 11 year old daughter of Lenore & Kori Davis and is in the 5th grade at Southern Hills Elementary School where she is maintaining a 4.0 g.p.a. Jasmine’s favorite subject is Science. She is currently serving as the Student Council Secretary and is a member of Panther TV (a school club). Jasmine also enjoys singing in the school choir.
Jasmine has been a Southeast Club member for the last 3 years, and to her credit, she has been very involved in club programming. Some of her favorite programs are Club Tech, the National Photography Program, National Fine Arts Exhibit, and reading programs in the Learning Center. She also enjoys games room and gym activities and has even participated in the annual Elks Hoop Shoot and the Optimist Tri-Star Basketball competitions. Jasmine is a peer leader and active in Smart Moves Programs to include the state funded TEXSYN program that teaches young people abstinence by learning different methods to say NO. As a member of the Torch Club, she has been involved several community service projects, and she is always willing to lend a hand with the tutoring program!
