On Tuesday, February 22, 2011, Noah Mendiola was awarded the honor of being the February 2011 Youth of the Month at the weekly Optimist Club meeting at Luby’s. Noah is the 10 year old son of Arthur & Sue Mendiola, and he is in the 5th grade attending Fain Elementary School. His favorite subjects are Math and Science. Noah wants to attend college at MSU and hopes to become a Veterinarian. Would you believe he is maintaining a 4.0 GPA!
Noah attends the Southeast Branch of the Boys & Girls Club and has been a member for 4 years. His favorite thing to do while at the club is having fun! Noah plays soccer in the gyms, enjoys participating in Triple Play Healthy Habits, and especially likes to go to MSU for the Tennis Program. Noah is also in the TEXSYN Program which is an abstinence course based on the Smart Moves Program. He can usually be found behind the front desk serving as a Jr. Staffer helping by answering the phone and checking items in and out to his peers. He is very helpful during Power Hour helping where needed with homework help and doing his own homework as well!
One staff member commented: “Noah is very helpful in all areas of the Club and is a model-member, open to new activities and programs!”
